LEARY WASHINGTON COX

Leary was born in Kingston, Jamaica on January 8, 1945, and departed this life on October 28, 2023. His parents Aston and Geraldine Cox both predeceased him. Leary is the first of three children and is survived by his sister Joan Forrester, lovingly known as Polly and a loving brother, Fitz-Gerald. Also leaving behind his life-long partner, Ashna Campbell, three stepchildren, Leroy Stephens, Andrea Mitchell, Gloria Lindsey and other family members and friends.

After studying at MICO Teachers College and teaching in Kingston, Jamaica, Leary migrated to Canada in 1966 and studied at York University. In 1979 he migrated to the USA where he settled in Tomball, Texas until his passing. Leary attended the Lone Star College and the University of Houston and worked at Lone Star College from 1991 to 2013. He also worked as a TSA agent at George Bush International Airport.

Leary will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
