Lawrence "Larry" Joseph Melcer

Lawrence Joseph Melcer, known to his loved ones as Larry, passed away on January 4, 2024, at the age of 70 in Tomball, Texas. He was born on April 30, 1953, in Los Angeles, California. Larry was a husband, father, and a cherished grandpa. He held his family close to his heart and valued his friendships. Larry was a dedicated communicator, always making sure to stay connected with those who he respected.

Larry is survived by his daughters, Jenny Martinez-Avila and her husband Santiago, his daughter Rachel Gonzalez and her husband Carlos, and his grandchildren Hailey, Brandon, Logan, Leah, and Everly. He is also survived by his sister Lori Barbay and her husband Jeff, his nephew Justin Barbay and his wife Tiffany, his niece Noelie Carpenter, and her husband Kyle, as well as his great nephews Ace and Graham.

Larry was preceded in death by his mother Helen Barnes, his father Fred Melcer, and his wife Gwen Melcer.

Larry attended North Shore Highschool before embarking on a four-year journey in the navy. Following his military service, he pursued a career as an electrician. Larry's dedication and expertise in his field were greatly admired.

Larry enjoyed driving and taking road trips. He enjoyed his visits with friends and talking about the good ole days. He loved going to his grandchildren's games, performances, and extracurricular activities, and showing his support to them. These were his cherished hobbies that brought him joy and fulfillment.

A viewing will be held at Klein Funeral Homes in Tomball, Texas on Tuesday January 9, 2024, from 5-8pm. Graveside services will be held on January 10, 2024, at 11am at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Bremond, Texas. Followed by a gathering at Abraham Hall in Bremond.

Larry will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of his loved ones. May he rest in peace.
