Obituary

Lawrence Anton Lieder went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 17, 2022, at the age of 92. He joins in Heaven his parents, Herman and Marie Lieder; his wife, Mildred Lieder; and his son, Roger Lieder.

He is survived by three of his four children, Larry Lieder (Elaine), Carolyn Elsey, David Lieder (Christy), (Kathy Lieder); 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; his sister, Gertrude Keiper; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A quiet man who never spoke much or sought the limelight, his sense of humor was entertaining. He could catch you off guard with his dry wit and his one liners that would make you tilt your head and smile. His blue eyes would light up with a "gotcha" head nod.

Lawrence was a 1947 graduate of Cypress Fairbanks High School. He devoted his life to the service of the Lord by serving on several boards including St. John Lutheran Church in Cypress and Salem Lutheran Church in Tomball. He served our country in the United States Naval Reserve, was a founder of the Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department, and established Tex-Fab, Inc. in 1973.

He supported New Life Children's Center, Concordia Lutheran High Schools in Tomball, Austin, and San Antonio, Concordia University in Austin, Heart for Honduras, Salem Kenya Missions, the Jewish Voice, Inspiring Possibilities, Reach Unlimited, Cy-Fair FFA, Camp Lone Star, Houston Zoo, and CFISD Education Foundation.

The Lieder family gives special recognition to Elva Estevez and Colten McGrew for their loving care over the past several years.

Friends are invited to visit with the family beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 21, at Salem Lutheran Church, 22601 Lutheran Church Road, Tomball, TX 77377. A service celebrating Lawrence's life and faith will follow the visitation at 11 a.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Lieder, Kris Lieder, Jeremy Lieder, Colten McGrew, Justin Cupial, and Jay Johnson. Immediately following the service, everyone is invited to attend a reception with the family. Graveside services will be private.
