LaVerne Mittelstedt Theiss passed away peacefully surrounded by her sons on 22 March 2024.  She was born 26 May 1939, to Lorenz and Evelyn Meyer Mittelstedt at the old Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas.

In addition to being a loving wife and mother, LaVerne was an extraordinarily skilled seamstress.  As a descendant of many of the early German families in North Harris County, she also developed a passion for family history.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard E. Theiss, Sr., her parents, and sister, Valeria Lilley.

LaVerne is survived by her sons, Howard "Bubba" Theiss, Jr. and Sean Theiss, and wife, Jeanie; grandchildren, Karl Theiss, Katherina Sitton and husband Jon, Hannah Theiss, and Sarah Theiss; and great-grandchildren, RJ Sitton and Avery Sitton.
