Laurence Elden Davis Jr. was born on December 8, 1946, to Laurence Elden Davis and Marion Johnson Davis in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Larry graduated from high school in Coral Gables, Florida, and went on to serve our country in the Vietnam War as an Army sergeant and platoon leader. As a civilian, he worked on the Saturn V rocket for the NASA space program. He was passionate about technology and co-founded the software company Alsoft, Inc. Later, he went on to work as an IT manager with JPMorgan Chase before retiring.

The last few years have been spent happily traveling with his wife Nancy. They enjoyed safaris, scuba diving around the world, and the company of family and friends.

He will be remembered for his sense of humor and adventure. He loved riding motorcycles with his Fast Friends and spending time in the mountains of New Mexico riding ATVs. He was an avid fan of Nascasr and enjoyed attending races. He was always ready to lend a helping hand and was quick to smile.

He is survived by his wife Nancy Davis of Magnolia,Texas; mother Marion Davis of Homestead, Florida; sister Dana Burke and husband Andrew of Upton, Massachusetts; daughter Kristen Hoover and husband Jason of Georgetown, Texas; daughter Brooke Davis of Austin, Texas; son Clayton Davis and wife Kim of Richmond, Texas; sons in law Todd Chen and Jason Chen; niece Tausha Thompson and family of Miami, Florida; niece Melinda Adams and family of Loveland, Colorado; niece Kimberly and nephew Matthew Burke of Upton, Massachusetts.

He is the beloved "Papa" of Emma and Dylan Hoover of Georgetown, Texas, Dylan Chen of Houston, Texas, and Peyton and Olivia Davis of Richmond, Texas.

Services will be held at Klein Funeral Home, 14711 FM 1488, Magnolia, TX  77355 on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 2:00pm.  Refreshments will follow at his home at 11918 Rainy Oaks Drive, Magnolia, TX 77354. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Magnolia Bible Church in Magnolia, Texas.
