Laureen Theiss, 66, of Spring, Texas, went to be with our Lord in heaven on March 11, 2026, in The Woodlands, Texas. Laureen was born on June 9, 1959, in Houston, Texas and was the daughter of the late Martin and Dorothy Sopchak.

Laureen was married for 48 years to the love of her life, her high school sweetheart, Van Theiss. Together they raised three loving children in the Klein community. She spent her career as a secretary for her father at Sopchak Plumbing and then later secretary and owner of Theiss Plumbing. But more importantly, Van's boss.

In life, Laureen enjoyed many hobbies including reading, shopping, trips to Canton Trade Days, gambling, fishing, cooking for others, and baking her famous Christmas cookies. She loved playing Bingo and Bunco, being with the entire family at our annual gatherings, riding around the ranch, dancing at the local VFW halls, and cheering on her favorite sports team, the Houston Astros.

Laureen was a loving MeMaw to 9 beautiful grandchildren. Even in the midst of her battle, her grandchildren brought her great joy and laughter. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren in all aspects of their lives whether it was cheering from the stands of a baseball game to watching her grandchildren play at the ranch.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Dorothy Sopchak, and brother, Carl Sopchak.

She is survived by her husband, Van Theiss; her children, Stephanie Collier (Aaron), Kevin Theiss (Brittany), and Nathan Theiss (Hayley); and her grandchildren, Hayes Collier, Brantley Theiss, Luke Theiss, Haiden Collier, Hadley Collier, Emma Theiss, Brock Theiss, Harrison Collier, and Emry Theiss. She is also survived by her brother, Ronald Sopchak; her sisters, Karen Van Marter and Tina Spitzenberger (Howard) along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Though she has left this world, she will live on in the love that she gave, the lessons she taught, and the memories she created. While grief visits us now, we remember that love always came first.
