Laura Michelle Ynigues, lovingly known as Michelle, was born on March 16, 1971 in Houston, TX. She passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at the age of 53, in the comfort of her home in Tomball, TX, surrounded by friends and family, after a five-year battle with cancer. Michelle graduated from Chester W. Nimitz High School in 1988 and worked in the steel drum and packaging industry for over 20 years, before retiring from Greif Inc. in 2018. Michelle is preceded in death by her mother, Guadalupe Gomez, her father, Tomas Gomez, and her brother, Gabriel Tomas Gomez. She is survived by her devoted husband, John Ynigues, her children, Whitney Cherelle Burkhalter, Maranda Michelle Burkhalter, Checotah Cortez Burkhalter, Jaylin Morgan Ynigues, her grandchildren Aaliyah Chenelle Burkhalter, Jurnee Reign Branch, and her brother Len Alberto Gomez.

Michelle was a beautiful soul who loved the Lord with all her heart. One of the ways she expressed her love for the Lord was through dance. For over 15 years, she served as a praise dancer and dance leader. Her love for the Lord and dance helped communities birth dance ministries in their churches. Her passion for praising the Lord through dance, and guiding others to do the same, led her to write and publish a book titled, Dying to Dance: A Guide for the Hearts that are Longing to Praise Dance.

In her free time, Michelle enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She found comfort in tending to her plants and creating a beautiful home for her family to gather. Many referred to her as a fashionista, as she was always dressed in the latest fashions and best accessories. Her contagious laugh and stunning smile could light up a room. Throughout life's most difficult moments, she never wavered and she never lost her faith. She was a true woman of God and inspiration to many. Her life is a testament to God's promises. And while she will be deeply missed, knowing she has received the gift of everlasting life is what brings us comfort and joy as we celebrate her life.
