Larry Dean Snader, born December 5, 1940 in Wadsworth, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2023, at the age of 82. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Merna Loy Snader; sons Jim Dean Snader and Dwayne Russell Snader; brother Ralph Snader; daughter-in-law Ingrid; grandchildren Crystal, Ashley, Shannon, Leia, Brandon, and Sophie; and great-grandchildren Maddox, Amelia, and Luna all whom loved him dearly.
Larry served in the US Navy for 20 years and is a Vietnam and Bay of Pigs veteran. During his career he was a Military Instructor and served on several ships overseas, as well as state side duty stations. He retired as a Chief Petty Officer in 1978 with full honors.
After retiring from the US Navy, Larry went on the pursue a career as a salesman and eventually achieved a purchasing manager position. He retired from the workforce in 2000 to enjoy time with his wife and grandchildren.
In retirement, Larry enjoyed perfecting his culinary craft, woodworking, painting, tending to his garden, traveling, and spending time with family and friends playing games.
He will be remembered for his expert advise, caring heart, creativity, determination, and his great passion for serving his country in the military.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 23, at Wildwood United Methodist Church, 8911 Farm to Market Road 1488, Magnolia, TX 77354. A reception will follow the service at the church. Interment will be private.
