Larry Keith Shaw, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025. Born in Altus Oklahoma on March 2, 1944. Larry was an Oklahoman through and through. As a child, he loved raising and showing animals. He also delivered papers on his bicycle and later his car. He loved cars from an early age and enjoyed Formula 1 and other automotive racing.

After graduating from Altus High School, he attended Oklahoma State University, earning both a BS and MS in Civil Engineering. While there he received the St. Pat Salute Award given to outstanding graduating seniors in engineering. Larry loved his alma mater and often proudly wore the orange and black. During football, basketball, baseball season and wrestling matches, he watched every one of their games and you would see him in his favorite chair cheering his OSU Cowboys to victory. For several years he was on the Board of Engineers at OSU and loved traveling to Stillwater to meet with the engineering students.

Larry spent most of his career in the oil and gas business, especially working with off shore facilities. He lived overseas for several years in Singapore and England. Most of his work there was in the Middle East, China, Singapore, Europe, and the North Sea. While there, he was always involved in coaching and working with the children of fellow expats at the American Schools.  After returning to the States, he retired from Fluor Corporation.

Larry adored children. He loved his children, and his grandchildren were the light of his life. Playing board games with them and attending their sports events, plays, recitals, etc. brought him immense happiness. For several years, Larry worked as a Children's Leader with Bible Study Fellowship. Guiding these children in an in depth study of God's Word was the most satisfying work of his life.

Most of all, Larry loved the Lord. He sustained Larry through several years of illness and declining health issues. Even when he couldn't attend John Wesley Church and the men's Dawn Patrol, nor his BSF Bible study, he continued to participate online or by telephone whenever he could.  Zoom meetings and watching church services on television brought him great comfort.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of forty years, Jo Ann; his children, Wade Shaw, Jana Shaw, Deborah Pfeffer, Bart and Karen Pfeffer, Stephen and Mary Pfeffer, Christopher and Michele Pfeffer and Laura Shaw; his grandchildren, Ethan Shaw, Peyton Shaw, Lauren Shaw, Jacob Pfeffer, Caleb Pfeffer, Katie Pfeffer, Camden Pfeffer, Matthew Pfeffer, Christopher and Andrea Engler, and Lauren and Mitch Tibbit; his sister-in-law, Becky Stewart, nephew Ken Stewart and daughter Caris,  niece Ceseley Rollins, her husband Chris, and their children Will, Allison, and Henry.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Juanita and Elija "Buster" Shaw, brother Donald Shaw and brother-in-law David Stewart.

Larry will be immeasurably missed by all, but we know that he is resting at last in the arms of our Savior, Jesus Christ. He alone is our hope.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at 3:00 pm. at John Wesley Methodist Church, 5830 Bermuda Dunes Drive, Houston, Texas 77069. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to John Wesley Methodist Church or BSF International.            `           `
