Larry H. Ransberger, Jr.'s Obituary
Larry Ransberger, 75, left this world on Tuesday, July 6, 2016.
Born in Mishawaka, Indiana, Larry was a graduate from Purdue University, where he was an ROTC cadet as well as football player.
After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army, serving proudly for 28 years.
His retirement, at the rank of Lt. Colonel, led to his permanent move to Houston in 1993.
Over the years, Larry enjoyed all aspects of Houston's Community Theatre, from set design and construction to directing to show videography.
He is known best for his multiple portrayals as Tevye of Fiddler on the Roof.
His other interests included golf, RC planes and the company of good friends.
He is predeceased by two wives, Barbara and Jane, as well as his parents, Lawrence and Mary ("Grandma R").
He is survived by his son, Wayne Ransberger; his granddaughter, Cosette Ransberger; and his Goddaughter, Abby Adams.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 pm Saturday, July 9, 2016 at
Klein Funeral Home Chapel, 9719 Wortham Blvd, Houston, Texas 77065
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Houston SPCA or to the St. Jude's Children Cancer Research.
