Larry Joe Mattern, known to family and friends as Pops, was born in Navasota, TX on June 22, 1953, and passed away in The Woodlands, TX on January 15, 2020.

He is survived by his four children, Patricia Mears, Christopher Jones and wife Katie, Melissa Mattern and husband Derek Drake and Bryce Blankenship; ten grandchildren, Taylor Noble and husband Gavyn, Ryan Deaton, Scott Deaton, CJ Jones, Ty Drake, Erika Drake, Katelynn Jones, Montana Hannon, Tarryn Drake and Gavin Jones; two great-grandchildren Aurora Noble and Decklyn Jones; his brothers Eugene Mattern and wife Paula and Ricky Mattern; his sister Sandy Chance and husband Ronnie; and is preceded by his father Joe Mattern and his mother Kathleen Mattern.

Larry's family will receive friends and loved ones for a visitation from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 22, 2020. There will be a Rosary Service at 5:00 PM and a Service of Remembrance at 6:00 PM at Klein Funeral Home, 1400 West Main, Tomball, TX 77375. A funeral mass for Larry will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 8227 County Road 205, Plantersville, TX 77363. Mass will be immediately followed by a graveside service and Celebration of Life luncheon, both also taking place at St. Mary's.
