Lawrence “Larry” Dale Fisher was born on January 17, 1938 in Houston, Texas where he spent the entirety of his life exemplifying the true meaning of hard work and making something out of nothing. He went to Trinity Lutheran High School where he would meet Marion “Boots” Fisher (1936-2025) who would become the love of his life for the next 70 years. They would go on to have 2 children; Rodney Dale Fisher in 1957 and Laurnette Elizabeth Dertinger in 1960.

Larry would have a number of jobs including working for the post office and delivering Schlitz beer for Hillman Distributing before living out his true passion in the meat processing industry and becoming the owner of Silverseal Meat Company in 1981 in Tomball, Texas. It was there that him and his loving wife Boots would proudly serve the community until their well-deserved retirement in 2013. His hard working spirit would not end there however, and he would go on to proudly serve on the HCESD 15 Board of Commissioners for 16 years where he would vote on important issues regarding property tax allocations for the local fire department.

Larry leaves a legacy of love through his son Rodney Fisher and wife Donna, daughter Laurnette Dertinger and husband Mike, granddaughter Michelle Dertinger and partner Reese, and grandson Mitchel Dertinger and wife Hannah. He is also lovingly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would also like to express their sincerest gratitude to the sister of Mike Dertinger, Wanda Dollahan, who selflessly left her life behind in California to take on the role of Larry’s personal caretaker for the past several months.
