Lani Karen Trammell, of Conroe, Texas, was called home to be with her Lord on January 20, 2026, at the age of 85. She was born on September 1, 1940, in Shattuck Oklahoma and grew up in Follett, Texas. Karen graduated with a B.A. in History, from West Texas State University. She married the love of her life, Jerry, on December 26, 1962. They enjoyed a beautiful life together until his untimely passing in 1998.
Karen was a hard worker her entire life. She spent her first few years in the workforce teaching high school History before transitioning into corporate America, where she was one of the first people to ever use the punch card system on computers. Later she worked as a legal secretary at her favorite workplace, Stockwell Law Firm in Lake Charles, where she gained many lifelong friends.
She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church, where she cherished worshipping the Lord. She faithfully served at St. Luke Simpson Methodist Church in Lake Charles, LA and First Methodist Church in Willis, TX. Once retired, she lived life to the fullest volunteering, loving her grandchildren and travelling with her twin sister to all corners of the earth.
Those left to cherish her memories are Son, Timothy Trammell and his wife Sherri. Son Chad Trammell and his wife Alison. Grandchildren, Grant (Olivia) Trammell, Sarah Trammell and Jillian Trammell. Great Grandson, Benny Trammell. Brother, James Hill. Nephew, Clint (Jamie) Fowler, (Austin, Chance, Hannah) Niece, Rhonda (David) Gruenewald (Abby, Gabe).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Trammell, parents, James & Byrl Hill, sister, Camille Harrelson and her Identical Twin sister and best friend, Kathleen Fowler.
Our family is grateful for your presence today and the outpouring of love and support shown during this time.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 24th, at 10:00 am, at First Methodist Church, 200 N. Thomason St. Willis, TX. 77378.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Methodist Church- Willis or St. Luke Simpson Church, Lake Charles, LA, in honor of Karen Trammell.
