Lane Chester Dodgen of Tomball, Texas died at home Thursday April 5, 2018. He leaves his beloved wife of 66 years, Teresa Lee (Paratore) Dodgen; his daughter Elaine Dodgen Bullard and her husband Robert L Bullard; his son Richard Dodgen and wife Kathy May Dodgen; daughter Susan Dodgen Mitchell and husband Burney Mitchell; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Born in Goose Creek, Texas on July 1, 1929, Lane was the son of Oscar Dodgen and Una Dodgen Coble.
After serving in the United States Marine Corps Lane and Teresa married at Annunciation Catholic Church in Houston on January 26, 1952. Lane and Teresa lived in Baytown until 1992. They retired to Riverside, Texas and in 2016 moved to Tomball, Texas.
Over the course of his career, Lane worked for Prudential Insurance, as a Baytown firefighter and as an ironworker for the International Ironworkers Local 84.
Through the years Lane enjoyed many hobbies. Traveling, fishing, woodworking, metalworking and his 1929 Model A Ford. Above all he loved his family and friends. Spending time with them was precious to him.
Services will include a Mass and reception at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Tomball and interment at Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to The American Cancer Society or a charity of your choosing would be appreciated.
Date and time of services are to be announced.
Details are being handled by Klein Funeral Home in Tomball.
