It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kyla Laird Porche, 52, of Klein, TX, on June 12, 2024. Kyla was a dedicated wife, loving mother, daughter, sister, and remarkable woman and will be deeply missed.
Kyla was born on February 11, 1972, to Clyde and Dian Laird in Port Arthur, TX. After graduating from Nederland High School in 1990, Kyla went on to study Business at Lamar University graduating with a Business Administration degree in 1995, later earning a Master of Science in Human Resource Management from Houston Baptist University in 2005.
Kyla found fulfillment in helping others through her work in Human Resource Management for over 25 years in the Oil and Gas industry.
It was at her first professional role at Pennzoil that Kyla met the love of her life, Brad Porche in 1997. Kyla and Brad married in 2000 and brought a son and daughter into the world, Logan and Lauren, who were instantly the lights of their lives.
Kyla had great pride in her children, dedicating her time to unconditionally supporting their numerous sporting events and extracurricular activities. Kyla and Brad have shared an extraordinary passion for cheering on their Houston Astros and Texas A&M Aggies. A love they have passed to their children.
Committed to selfless service, Kyla was active in her church, serving in Kid's and Awana Clubs, and her community, serving as a board member of the National Charity League (NCL), and as an Officer in the Softball Booster Club as well as volunteering with Girl Scouts of America.
Kyla found joy in gardening, holiday decorating, traveling, photography, listening to worship music, and celebrating special events with family and friends.
Though a failing heart took Kyla away from this world too soon, her loving heart left a beacon of light for all she knew. Her nurturing spirit, unwavering support, and boundless love will forever live on in the hearts of her children.
Kyla was preceded in death by her father Clyde "Eddie" Laird and her grandmother Janie "JJ" Williamson. She is survived by her beloved husband of 24 years Brad, children Logan and Lauren, mother Dian Laird, sister Carissa Wolfe, brother-in-law Jarmon Wolfe, nieces Janie Wolfe and Kendall Baker, and numerous Porche family members.
