Our beloved youngest brother Kurt Owen Welch, 53, passed away unexpectedly on November 20, 2020.  He had been battling Polycythemia Vera for years.  Kurt was born in Houston, Texas August 7, 1967 to Leo Dewayne Welch and Alice Lee Welch.  He grew up in The Woodlands, Texas and later resided in Houston where he lived until his passing.

Kurt loved the University of Texas Longhorn baseball and football.  He especially loved going to the Longhorn baseball games in Austin with long time friend, roommate, and as Kurt's family called him "an angel from God" Doyle Clay.

Kurt is survived by his stepmother Penny Welch, sister Sheryl Romo, sister and brother in law Kellie and David Manger, brother and sister in law Kyle and Tonya Welch, and step brothers Tommy and Mike Matkin.  Kurt is also survived by nieces Nicole Rodriguez, Kyla and Kaylee Welch, Reannin Sutton and Rebecca Bean, and by his nephews Cody Fehrenbach and Konner Welch. He is also survived by his nephew and Godson Brandon Manger. Proceeding in Kurt's death were his parents Leo and Alice Welch.

A celebration of life gathering honoring Kurt for immediate family and friends will be held Saturday December 5 ^th , 2020.
