Kurt Allan Eigenbrod passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2020. He was 78 years old.

Kurt was born in Manchester, Conn., on October 12, 1942, and his family moved in the summer of 1945 to a 64-acre property near Goshen, N.H. His early years were spent playing with his brother, Lester, on the farm, in the woods, by the brook, and around the family's restaurant and gas station business.

In high school, he joined the Civil Air Patrol, and he spent three weeks traveling to England and Scotland as part of an exchange program. He briefly attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute, but he soon transferred to Northeastern University, where he went on to earn a BA in accounting. Through Northeastern, he accepted work assignments in New York and Washington, D.C., with the General Services Administration, and upon graduation in 1967, he accepted a job as a systems analyst with Exxon in Linden, N.J.

In 1972, he met Marcia Burrows, and they were married in 1975. Their first child, Robert Forge, was born in 1976, and in 1977, Exxon relocated Kurt and his family to Spring, Texas. In 1979, son Mark Douglas was born, and daughter Kristin Joy followed in 1980.

The 20 years that followed found Kurt involved with school projects, attending band and choir concerts and theatrical productions, and taking the family on many vacations. Kurt was a proud member of the Lion's Club, where he served as president of his chapter from 1988 to 1990. He served as treasurer of the Klein Oak Band Association while his sons were in band.

In 2000, Kurt retired from Exxon after 33 years. Following the passing of his wife, Marcia, in 2005, Kurt learned to enjoy the quiet life at home and working in his yard. Driving was a joy for him, and he would often take long road trips by himself to visit family in New Jersey, New England and Indiana.

In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his many beloved dogs, especially Muffin, Peanut, Tootsie and Gizmo. He is survived by his brother, Lester, and his wife, Janet; his son, Rob, and his wife, Christina Grant; his son, Mark; his daughter, Kristin; and his granddaughters, Kaylee and Viola.
