Kristin Marie Walter, 56, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 1, 2020, in her home in Tomball, Texas, after a courageous 2-year battle with cancer.

Kristin was born in Syracuse, NY and spent the majority of her childhood in the neighboring suburb of Baldwinsville.  She earned an associate degree at Cazenovia College and a bachelor's degree in Education at Alfred University in 1986, where she met the love of her life, Tim Walter.  Kristin and Tim were married on August 8, 1987.

Kristin's career started as an elementary teacher in Augusta, GA.  Shortly thereafter, Tim and Kristin moved to Houston, where they started their family and made their home for many years.  Kristin chose to stay at home while raising their two wonderful girls, Rachel and Kelly, while remaining active with her passion for teaching through volunteering in the schools.  As the girls approached high school age, Kristin returned to teaching.  She loved being an educator and helping build the foundation of her students.  Nothing made Kristin happier than seeing everyone around her succeed.  She was never too busy to make time for others.  Kristin loved cooking, gardening, traveling, and above all, spending time with friends and family.

Surviving are her best friend and husband of 33 years, Tim, beloved daughters, Rachel (Deen) Coleman and Kelly Walter; her mother, Geri (Andy) Torhan; her father Jim (Kathie) Hebblethwaite; sisters, Kathy (Mark) Girard, Karen (Jerry) Femano, and Sarah (Dave) Klegman; a host of other loved extended family members; and grand puppies, Cricket and Tinker Belle.

At Kristin's request, a memorial service will be held at a date to be determined at John Wesley United Methodist Church in Houston, TX.

A very special thank you to Dr. Tremont and the rest of the Methodist Hospital neuro oncology team, who provided countless hours of support.
