Ms. Kan Kiv was born in Kampong Chhnang, Cambodia on July 3, 1934,
where she began her incredible journey through life that spanned over
89 years and two continents. Ms. Kan Kiv mother passed away when
she was just 3 months old. She was raising by her adopt mom hence
where she learns and speak Vietnamese fluently. Growing up as
orphanage with adopted family, Ms. Kan Kiv dedicated her life and
legacy to help orphanage and less fortunate children.

In 1954, at the age of 20, Ms. Kan Kiv met a wonderful man, Ya Sinuon
where they married in Pursat, but residing in Chroy Changva,
Cambodia. Together they had 5 children, two sons and three daughters.
In 1979, after surviving the Khmer Rouge regime, Mr. Ya Sinuon and
Ms. Kan Kiv guided the family out of war-torn country and escaped to a
refugee camp in Thailand. In 1981, they immigrated to the United
States where they eventually settled in Houston, Texas. In 1998, it was
unfortunate that Ms. Kav Kiv beloved husband had passed away at
home in Friendswood, Texas.

Ms. Kan Kiv lived the life characterized by dedication to family, country,
and religion. She was a unique and kind-heart woman who loved
knowledge of Buddhism where she left her legacy behind by building a
temple in her hometown, Kampong Chhnang, Cambodia. She also
donated her goodwill to support several orphanage children center in
Kampong Chhnang, Pursat, Chroy Changva, and Ta Khmau.

On December 19, 2023, at the age of 89, Ms. Kan Kiv peacefully passed
away at home in Cypress, Texas. Ms. Kan Kiv is survived by her son Sina
and wife Chhith, son Vutha and wife Manith, daughter Chantha and
husband Sethy, daughter Ravy and husband Sophat, daughter Soklim
and husband Sokounawath, Nine grandchildren, Solinna, Eric and wife
Ashley, Samantha, Sowanny and husband Adam, Nikki, Mollyroth,
Helaena, Chanmolly, Kara, and one great grandson Olivier.
