King Edward "Ed" Byrd, 88, of Spring, Texas, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025, surrounded by his family. Ed was born on February 18, 1937, in Summerland, Mississippi, the son of the late Anslem King Byrd and Lela Brecheen Byrd.

Ed was preceded in death by his beautiful and loving wife of 49 years, Edith Mae Byrd, five sisters, and four brothers.

He is survived by his loving children, daughter Sharon Spence and husband James Spence; son King Edward "Eddie" Byrd II and Caroline Wijangco. He was a proud grandfather to Kayla Spence, Courtney Spence, and Lauren Wijangco.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, followed by funeral service at 10:00 AM at Klein Funeral Home, 1400 West Main Street, Tomball, TX 77375. Interment to follow at Klein Memorial Park, 9714 FM 2920, Tomball, TX 77375.
