Kim Elliott Neumann, of The Woodlands, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on May 22, 2026, following a lengthy illness at the age of 73. Born in Providence, Rhode Island on February 10, 1953, Kim was the youngest of three sons of Glenn Boyd Neumann and Evelyn Smith Neumann. He spent most of his childhood in Wilmington, Delaware. Kim graduated from Milford Mill High School in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1971. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Maryland at College Park and later received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Houston-Downtown.

Kim began his professional career with the Legal Aid Society in Wilmington, Delaware, advocating for the rights of handicapped persons and handling landlord-tenant cases. He continued this important work after transferring to the Gulf Coast Legal Foundation in Houston in 1978 — efforts he often described as the most rewarding of his life. In his early years in Houston, he also served as a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters. In 1981, he joined the law firm of Vinson & Elkins, LLP, where he enjoyed a distinguished 36-year career as an Investigator, leading complex investigations in support of the firm's civil litigation practice. He was known for being a man of integrity who approached every case with diligence, thoroughness, and the highest standards of professionalism.

A man of deep faith, Kim was a follower of Jesus Christ. He grew up attending Christ Church Christiana Hundred in Wilmington, Delaware, where he was confirmed, and was an active member of The Woodlands Methodist Church for nearly 20 years. He served as President of his Sunday School class for a number of years and faithfully participated in Quest Bible study.

Kim was a passionate sports enthusiast with a particular love for ice hockey and a lifelong devotion to the Philadelphia Flyers. His love for sports began in childhood little leagues, eventually growing into a high school athletic career where he played basketball, golf, and served as a pitcher on the baseball team. His competitive spirit, encyclopedic knowledge of sports trivia, and outgoing personality — paired with a generous sense of humor — endeared him to many. Kim never met a stranger and had an extraordinary ability to make friends wherever he went. He also cherished animals and found great joy in the companionship of his three golden retrievers: Teal, Riley, and Olive.

Above all, Kim was a loving husband and father who treasured his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 42 years, Donna Lynne Neumann; their daughters, Deana Renee Hill (and husband Christopher Hill) of Arvada, Colorado, and Stacey Lauren Gilliam (and husband Paul Gilliam) of Austin; granddaughter, Claire Evelyn Gilliam of Austin; and brother, Gregg Bradford Neumann of Frederica, Delaware. He is predeceased by his parents, his brother, Glenn Bruce Neumann, and his stepson, David Miller Thompson.

Kim lived a life marked by integrity, faith, and unwavering commitment to those he loved. He will be greatly missed.
