Kevin Lim, 89 of Houston, Texas passed away peacefully on Christmas Eve, 2022.  He was born Lim Koang Yauw in Bandung, Indonesia in 1933 to the late Lim Kim Thuan and late Lan Nio Tjiong.  He later changed his name to a more Western one (Kevin) when he moved to Australia and subsequently always used that until his death.

Kevin lived a rich and full life, in Indonesia, where he was born and raised and in Australia for almost 20 years.  Kevin and Rose journeyed as a young couple to Canada, and eventually to the US, where he lived for almost 50 years with the love of his life, Rose.  He loved music and had always dreamed of being a classical pianist.  He loved the outdoors and being in nature.  He had a knack for figuring things out and enjoyed repairing cars and machinery, and if something didn't exist, he created it to address the need. Kevin and Rose shared a love of travel, especially by car, and they visited almost every state in the US in addition to many countries in Europe and Asia. He had a gentle and quiet presence, loved to laugh and was kind to everyone he met.  Most importantly, Kevin was a man of great faith.  He had been raised Buddhist and later converted to Christianity.  It was his mission to help others see the Light of Christ.  He and Rose were active in their church and within their community and were always willing to lend a hand.

Kevin is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Rose, his son David (Elizabeth) Beilby, daughter Suzanne (Alan) Lim, son Ted (Erica) Lim, daughter Fiona (Jeff), grandchildren Daniel (Eve), Rachel (Michael), Rain (Alex), Danya, Lochie (Cass), Teddy, Benjamin, and Zachary, great-grandchildren Teddy, Felix, Hazel and Charlie, and finally his grandpets Phoebe, Charlie, Kiki, Coco, Maverik, Bubbish, Kitty, Bean, Master Oogway and Jerri the Ostrich. He is also survived by his siblings, Koang Eng Lim, Alice Chee, Yueh Chen Wiradinta, Tjuk Halim, Julia Wiradinata Volquaarts and Harianto Halim.

He is preceded in death by his parents Lim Kim Thuan and Lan Nio Tjiong, brothers Koang Tjin and Bonny, mother-in-law Angelina Betita Mohammad, father-in-law Yuguis Mohommad, brothers-in-law Aristedes and Hausine Mohammad.

A Memorial Service and a Celebration of Life will be held for Kevin Lim on Sunday, January 1, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Hope Community Evangelical Covenant Church, 11811 Misty Valley Drive, Houston, TX 77066.
