Kevin Robert Corken, 57, of Cypress, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on February 11, 2026, after doing something he loved—playing tennis.

Kevin was born January 26, 1969, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Dennis Corken and Maureen McCullough. He attended Saint Mary's Elementary in Hyde Park (Cincinnati).

Kevin excelled in math and developed a lifelong love of sports. He later attended Purcell Marian High School in Cincinnati, where he played soccer, basketball, and baseball, and he made many cherished friends. He earned a soccer scholarship to Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, where he also played varsity tennis. He competed on the ACM International Collegiate Programming team and served as President of the International Entrepreneurial Association.

Many may not know, but Kevin was in the entertainment industry early in life. He worked loading videotapes for the new NBC Sports network in Cincinnati at their transmitter on the top of Chickasaw Street. He helped his mother on a two-day continuous radio shift at WYYS FM in Cincinnati during a memorable winter snowstorm. Kevin appeared in the movie Little Man Tate, and its star and Director, Jodie Foster, liked him enough to use his picture on the VHS jacket for the film.

After college, Kevin worked a few years in New Orleans for his to-be father-in-law as a Property Manager at APCOA Inc. Kevin shifted when he moved to Houston, working in product management for BPM Microsystems and then Reynolds and Reynolds (formerly Ford Dealer Computer Services). Kevin then transitioned to a stay-at-home Dad to his four daughters, his favorite job of all. After a period of time, he began substitute teaching, eventually moving to full-time teaching. He found his niche in teaching Audio Visual Production courses and could often be found behind cameras or directing students at Cy Fair High School events such as football games, choir concerts, and most recently the CFISD Livestock Show. Kevin loved his students and teaching. In January, he was named 2026 Cy Fair High School Teacher of the Year, which completely surprised and delighted him.

Kevin and Stephanie met in 2015 when their daughters played on the same basketball team. After a year, the two were married in April 2016 surrounded by their wonderful kids and many friends. Kevin's generous and kind nature made the blended family a perfect fit—he welcomed two additional children to his home and loved his time with them both. This April, Kevin and Stephanie looked forward to celebrating their 10-year wedding anniversary.

Kevin is survived by his wife Stephanie of Cypress, his daughters: Katie Corken of Orlando, Fla, Meg Corken of Bluffton, SC, Brittany Corken of Baton Rouge, LA, and Elizabeth Corken of Waller, TX; stepchildren: Ryan Donovan of Grapevine, TX, and Natalie Donovan of Baton Rouge, LA. He is also survived by his Mother, Maureen McCullough and Stepfather Mike Davidson of Maineville. OH, sister Erin Corken of Cypress, brother Brandon and wife Cheyenne Davidson of Phoenix, AZ, sister Shannon and husband Lincoln Lacour of Houston, and stepbrother Brian and wife Naomi of Mason, OH, and family. He is also survived by many loving family members, including Mother-in-Law Rebecca Catlin, Sister-in-law Abby and her husband Josh Brown and niece Sarah Brown, many friends, and former students.

Kevin is preceded in death by his father Dennis Corken of Boca Raton, Fla and grandparents Bob and Peg Corken and Rosemary and Jack McCullough of Cincinnati, OH.

Kevin's kindness, humor, faith, and steady presence left a mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
A Memorial Service will be held at Good Shepherd Church in Cypress on Saturday, February 21 at 1 p.m. in Cypress.

Pall Bearers will be Worth Davis, Jim Bucolo, Lincoln LaCour, Troy Becker, Silas Hernandez and Pat McCullough.

In lieu of flowers, his family suggests donations in his honor be given to Good Shepherd Methodist Church.
