Kenton Lee Loy Schwenke 81, born in Engle, TX. Son of Paul and Lydia Neirlich Schwenke. His lifelong love of Horses began when he was given his first at 4 years old and has had Quarter Horses ever since.
He retired from Houston Independent School District after 35+ years of service. He was a Lifetime Member of the Houston Livestock Show. Since 1975, Charter and Lifetime Member of the Harris County Fair since 1979. As well as a Lifetime Member of Houston Farm and Ranch.
A 4-H Leader for 20 years in Cypress, TX. He judged numerous County Fairs and High School FFA Shows.
He devoted most of his time educating the youth in raising and showing animals. He was called "Pop" or "Dad" by many 4-H kids.
The Highest Honor he and his wife Mary, (of 57 years) received was when 10 Cy-Fair High Schools dedicated their 2010 FFA Show to them.
He and Mary lived in Cypress for 36 years. Moving to Navasota, TX when Cypress wasn't country any longer, where he continued planting his many Gardens.
Survived by wife, Mary: daughter, Kendra; son, Kenton, Jr. and wife Kandi. Grandsons (who called him "Honey"), Kenton, III and wife Tori; Jake, Kori and Kole. Granddaughter, Summer. Great-Grandchildren, Gabriel and Rowyn. Sisters, Lucille Barton and Neva Smouse. Numerous Nieces and Nephews. Preceded by Sisters Grace Schwenke and Myrtle Rinehart, and Parents.
