Kenneth Wayne Sawyer, son of the Cleo and Lester Sawyer, was born February 28, 1940 in Joplin, Missouri. He passed away June 18 after a cancer diagnosis in December. He was married to Carol Hoofnagle on June 27, 1964. Sons Jeff and Greg joined their family in 1968 and 1971.

Ken was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a faithful Christian and a proud veteran of the US Navy. He loved fishing, camping, and playing cards. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, church family and friends who were like family. Ken was nicknamed the "Candy Man" at church because he always had a pocketful of Starburst to pass out. He continued this at Southern Knights Assisted Living where the staff would stop by for a treat.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents and wife. He is survived by his sons Jeff (Gretchen) of Tomball, TX and Greg (Liz) of Magnolia, TX; grandchildren (Hannah, Griffin, Emma and Haley); sisters Linda (Marvin) Greer of Joplin, MO and Pat Young of Tucson, AZ; nieces and nephews and many friends.
