Kenneth James Hoppe
August 9, 1957 – October 28, 2025
Kenneth James Hoppe, age 68, passed away on October 28, 2025, in The Woodlands, Texas.
He was born on August 9, 1957, in Tomball, Texas to Johnnie Edward Hoppe and Betty Jane Breneman Hoppe. He was raised in Cypress, Texas and graduated from Cy-Fair High School in 1975.
Upon graduation, Kenneth began a multi-decade career in the oilfield service industry as an assembly mechanic working on equipment for cementing and stimulating oil and gas wells. He was a crew leader and ultimately became an outside project supervisor. Work took Kenneth all over the world including Brazil, Guatemala, and Venezuela.
Kenneth met Sandra Pawelek in 1981 at Tin Hall Dance Hall. It was always joked that everyone could hear Kenneth rumbling down the street to pick-up Sandra for their dates in his Pontiac Trans-Am always ready with a Hershey chocolate bar to give her. Kenneth and Sandra were married on June 2, 1984. Together they had two children, son, Nathan P. Hoppe and daughter, Nicole M. Hoppe.
Kenneth was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He enjoyed tinkering with just about anything and give him a little time he would figure out how to get things fixed again. Upon retiring, Kenneth took to gardening and constantly had new plants and arrangements growing in the backyard. Once Kenneth became PawPaw he loved watering the garden with Caleb where just about everything in the yard would be watered, including themselves. Kenneth was eagerly waiting for George to start walking, so that he too could water the garden with PawPaw.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Sandra Pawelek Hoppe; son, Nathan P. Hoppe (Laura), and daughter, Nicole M. Hoppe; grandsons, Caleb J. Hoppe and George P. Hoppe; sister Brenda Oehlers (Kirk); father-in-law, Alfred E. Pawelek, Sr.; brothers-in-law, Alfred Pawelek, Jr. and Timothy Pawelek; sisters-in-law, Brenda Pawelek and Cynthia Hogan (Danny); and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents and mother-in-law, Jeanette J. Pawelek.
The Holy Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Community in Houston. Following the Rosary, a Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at a later date.
