Obituary

Kenneth Nolan Garner, 85 of Spring, Texas passed away on January 16, 2023 of complications from Alzheimer's disease. Kenneth was born on May 26,1937 to Peter Garner and Winifred Praytor in Springfield community of Palestine, TX.

After Ken graduated from Palestine High School, he went on to Sam Houston State University. He was working at the Houston Chronicle in 1964 when he met his first wife, Bonnie Ann Reinert. They had four children Tracey Eileen Garner Hansen 1965 (Jane), Earl Gregory Garner 1966 (Donna), Erin Kathleen Garner 1967, and Eric Stephen Garner 1969 (Pamela). He was the loving husband to Margaret Ann Carraway from 1985 until her passing in 2013.

Ken enjoyed a long career with Allstate Insurance Company and retired after 35 years of service. In his retirement years, he and Margaret spent time at the beloved "farm" The Lazy G where they enjoyed visits with the children and grandchildren.

In his last years, Ken was in the loving care of his daughter Tracey and her wife Jane in Kaysville, UT.

Ken was predeceased by his parents, three sisters and four brothers. He is survived by his four children and grandchildren James Matthew Coxe, Leslie Erin Hanes, Shauna Marie Hanes, Cory Michael Brim (Katie Houston), Lauren Michelle Simler (Bryan), Kelsey Lynn Flessner (Fred), Brooke Nicole Garner, Tyler Benjamin Garner, Emily Katherine Garner, Hayden Gregory Garner; great grandchildren Josie Ann Flessner, Scarlet Wren Flessner, Silas Wayne Flessner.  A viewing will be held on Monday, January 23, 2023 at Klein Funeral Home 1400 W Main St. Tomball, TX from 5-7 PM. The funeral service will follow on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 10 AM.
