A Life Well Lived - Keith Church

Keith Alan Church, 78, of New Caney, Texas, passed away on August 27, 2026, at home.

He was born on October 20, 1947, in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania to James E. and Betty J. Church.

Keith began his machinist career as a teenager in the family business, Space Precision. For the next 50 years he mastered his trade until he retired in his late 60s from Minco CNC.

Early in life he was the bass guitar player for The Sands in Houston, Texas and even recorded a song or two. “Open Your Eyes” can still be found on the web. He was a man who loved Corvettes, motorcycles, family and friends. Later in life he could often be found outside in nature enjoying any and every animal that crossed his path.

If you knew Keith, you have a story or two to tell. And chances are, at least one of them leaves you wondering how he lived to tell the tale himself. Over the years, Keith was rumored to have more than nine lives – surviving car wrecks, copperhead snake bites, and more than a few adventures that probably shouldn’t be put in writing. Somehow, he always managed to come out the other side with another story to tell.

Keith didn’t just live life – HE LIVED LIFE. And those of us who loved him are left with enough stories to keep telling for years to come.

He leaves behind a legacy of perpetual happiness. Keith always shared that genuine welcoming smile when he hadn’t seen you in a while. And when asked how he was doing, he always replied, “Couldn’t be better!”

He is survived by his ex-wife Linda Steagall; his children Kristyn Jameson (Dean Jameson) and Colby Church (Jennifer Church); grandchildren Devon Smith, Alyssa Cannon, Colton Church, and Jagger Jameson; brother Kris Church, and sisters Connie Church and Carol Chisholm (Andrew Chisholm) along with many nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.

A private Celebration of Life will be held in Kingwood, Texas on Sunday, September 6th, 2026.

In true Keith fashion, this won’t be a stuffy affair. Come ready to celebrate a life well lived, with good times, good friends, good music, and plenty of stories. Come casual in your favorite rock ‘n roll or Harley shirt.
