Kayla Lynn Cannon, 21, of Tomball, went to be with The Lord on the 3 ^rd of October 2021.  Kayla was born Feb 17, 2000 in The Woodlands, TX. She was the 3rd child and had brothers, 1 year older and 7 years older.  During High School she played both school and club / competition volleyball and excelled at the sport. She was inducted into the National Honor Society and graduated with honors in the top percentile of her class.  Although she was offered partial scholarships by multiple universities, her number one choice was to attend the University of Texas which she did (at full tuition).

Kayla was involved in charitable ministries from a young age beginning with outreach programs sponsored by her church, such as assisting in the installation of a water well in Nicaragua and also ministering to the children and youth in the villages there, and telling them about Jesus. She carried on with similar activities during her college years and was involved with Texas StuMo, a non-denominational student organization committed to the growth of UT students in their leadership, character & spiritual development.  Summer programs included going to other places, finding work to support their stay there while also meeting new young people, being a positive influence in their lives and helping to lead them to Christ.

Kayla gained experience in the workforce, taking on part time jobs both during her school semesters and during summers.  She worked in a few restaurants during her college years usually as a server.  She also worked summer jobs which were sometimes out of state while she was involved in Christian Youth Ministries in distance places.

Her most recent role was that of a leasing agent, which she excelled at and became a top producer.  As a matter of fact, a first-time apartment renter emailed her parents when it was discovered that Kayla had passed in a tragic accident on Oct. 3, 2021.  She wrote that she had just learned of the sad news of Kayla's death, and described how Kayla had initially welcomed her with open arms and guided her through her very first apartment lease.  It made such a positive impact on her, that's why she decided to take out the lease there.  She said even after moving in and becoming a tenant, Kayla continued to brighten her day each time their paths crossed.  They had moments of casual conversation, and she was so appreciative of her help in transitioning to "adulthood".

Kayla would be graduating in December 2021. Her future career plans were to be in the medical sales field.  No doubt she would have excelled there as well!

She is survived by her parents, Dale and Janet Cannon; brothers, Chase Alan Cannon and Cameron Michael Cannon; her grandmother Phyllis Ann Cannon and grandfather Herman Melvin Oltmann; her Aunts Cindy Oltmann Wisemore, Barbara Waddell Williams, Carol Cannon Shields, Ann Cannon Brown; her uncles, Frankie Don Wisemore, Mark Wayne Cannon; her cousins, Jennifer Michele Wisemore, Shaun Ted Wisemore, Tyler Blake Cannon, Megan McCarty, Scotty Alan Cannon, Le Ann Cook, Louis Wayne Cook, and Jason Ray Cook and so many other special family members and their children.

Kayla was proceeded in death by her grandmother, Maudice Casper Oltmann, her grandfather, Franklin Delano Cannon;,her uncles Michael Otis Oltmann and David Herman Oltmann.
