Katrina Rae Vargas was born in Bryan, Texas on July 6, 1990, and passed away in Houston, Texas on March 18, 2019.
She was a lover of birds, books, and writing. She was, also, very passionate about researching her family heritage, especially the Latin side. Even though she had become disabled and was physically unable to help others, she none the less reached out to others in support of causes she believed in.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Cody Wayne Vargas.
Katrina is survived by her mother, Jacqueline May Vargas; her sister, Marjorie Jean (Vargas) Kanaskie and brother-in-law, Paul Vincent Kanaskie, Jr.; her nephew, Vincent Cody Kanaskie, who she would say "was the most precious gift to the family"; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A "Celebration of Life" is to be held on Sunday, April 14 from 1:30-4pm at the Brown Gallery in The Houston Museum of Natural Science. If you are unable to contact the family and would like to, please contact Klein Funeral Home at 832-678-3900. A donation to the National Audubon Society is an option, in lieu of flowers.
