Kathryn Alexander Blinn, 72, passed away of cancer after a very brief illness on Saturday, October 3, 2020, with her sons by her side.

Kathie was born November 4, 1947, in Austin, Texas, and reared in Fort Worth. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Bruce W. Blinn in 2015, parents Neil Kenton and Alma Widén Alexander, and nephew David Neil Alexander.

Kathie is survived by her two sons Randall Bruce Blinn and Garrett Alexander Blinn, sister Connie Alexander of Fort Worth, brother Ken Alexander of Houston, and a host of cousins to whom she remained close across Texas, Utah, Ohio, Florida, and North Carolina.

Kathie attended Texas Tech University where she met Bruce. After Kathie and Bruce married, she continued her education at Kent State University, and later graduated from University of North Texas, achieving the goal she set when they married. After stints in St. Louis, Cleveland, Dallas, and Little Rock, they settled in Houston.

Kathie founded her own interior design firm, using her talents to assist families with home design. Kathie was active as a Northwest Assistance Ministries Meals on Wheels volunteer for twenty years, and was a member of Alpha Delta Pi, the Cypress-Woodlands Junior Forum, Bible Study Fellowship, and Raveneaux Country Club.  She made many lasting friendships through tennis, bridge, book clubs, bunco, and St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church . Kathie, Bruce, and their sons relished active family vacations, enjoying skiing, fly fishing, zip-lining, and travel to France, Italy, and Costa Rica.  She and her sons continued these traditions, traveling to Bali, Peru, and South Africa.

The funeral service will be on Friday, October 16, 2020, at St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church, 14301 Stuebner Airline Rd. Houston, TX 77069, where Kathie and Bruce were active members for over 40 years, and Kathie was a member of the Altar Guild and Daughters of the King.
