Mother of two, grand mother of three, survived by her two sons Matthew and Brian, her brothers Michael and Kevin, her sisters Kim and Sharon, and her mother Lucy.  Kathleen Smith Selleck passed away on Aug 3rd 2016 at the age of 66.  She has raised two children into a successful business owner and a US Marine turned Electrical Engineer.  Kathy met met David K Selleck, her husband of 17 years, while attending Emory University at Oxford in 1967. While enrolled at Emory, she and David moved to Athens, Georgia, and she began working in the medical laboratory at St. Mary's Hospital.  They were married in the summer of 1970.  She graduated from Emory with a Bachelor of Science in 1971, and soon thereafter entered the Medical Tech program at Emory and graduated in 1972.   Kathy worked at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Atlanta for 6 years until they had their first son, Brian Selleck, in 1978.  5 years later, their second son, Matthew Selleck, is born.  Kathy continued in her field by working at the Southern Regional Health System for several years until her divorce from David in 1987.  With a renewed spirit, she returned to school to receive her Masters in Laboratory Management, working and attending school, all while raising two children. When she had an empty nest in 2002, she moved to Houston Texas to be closer to her mother and family.  Since 2003 she has been the primary caretaker of her mother Lucy Smith.  She has been an integral member in the Norchester community by publishing the Norchester Times community newspaper and advocating on behalf of the residents of Norchester.  She has also been an active member in the Garden club.

Brian entered the construction field at 22 years old and turned a one-man operation into a multi-million dollar company.  At 27 years old in 2005 he married his wife Lea and had three beautiful children.

Matthew joined the United States Marines in 2002 at the age of 18 and will graduate from The Georgia Institute of Technology with a degree in Electrical Engineering this December.  He met his wife Rebecca in 2008 and they were married in 2013.

Her son's lives are a tribute to her and have only been possible by her enduring love and support throughout the years.  She is missed dearly and will forever live on in the fond memories and everlasting love of her family.  We love you.
