Kathleen "Kay" Pritchett, age 86, Houston, Texas, passed away July, 10, 2024. Kay was born December 4, 1937 in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Joseph B. Mann and Helen Dolson Mann. Including her parents she was preceded in death by her Husband, Charles "Charlie" Pritchett and her Brother, Larry Mann. She is survived by her Sister, Virginia Muelhbach, Brother, Robert Mann. Her children Joseph Pritchett, Thomas Pritchett, Mary Hughes, James Pritchett, Robert Pritchett, and Daniel Pritchett. Grandchildren Jennifer Hand. Rachelle Hughes-Grund, William Hughes, Geoffrey Hughes, Timothy Pritchett, Caitlin Pritchett, Chonyang Albert, Margaret Pritchett and Lorena Pritchett. Great Grandchildren, Brandon Whitaker, Vanessa Cross, Kelsey Cross, Benjamin Hand, Liviah Hand, Molly Hughes, Charles Hughes, Lyla Hughes, Adaline Hughes. Mikaela Albert, Maya Albert, Miles Albert and Great-Great Grandchild, Everleigh Marrs.

Kay and Charlie moved to Houston, TX from Kansas City, MO in 1982. She worked at St Mary Hospital Tea Room, I Donnelly Religious Goods, St Mary Hospital Food Service Department, IRS Service Center, Pittman Jr. High Cafeteria, Fox Photo, and Learn N' Play Child Care dba Montessori Child Development Center and Cypress Academy.

Kay enjoyed her gardening, cooking, baking, crossword puzzles and travel. She always insisted on a good meal prepared by her with homemade desserts. Whether it was a holiday meal or just a serving of ham and beans, it was important to her to share with family, friends and co-workers. If people did not have holiday plans, they were always invited to share the meal with the family and be required to take leftovers with them. She was always willing to share and teach her recipes to anyone that wanted to learn. Just make sure to take good notes as steps, exact measurements and tricks were not necessarily written down. She was not afraid to try new things including hot air balloon rides, learning to snow ski at age 57, and a trip to Ireland to see and visit with relatives. Christmas was always special for her with decorating the house (starting the day after Thanksgiving but not before), baking and making chocolates to share with friends and family. She volunteered at the church and all activities her kids participated in. She would have regular calls with family and friends, and every week, she and her sister would have a call to catch up, share stories, movies or shows to watch and solve all the world problems. She is now reunited with the love of her life Charlie.

Serving as pallbearers are Joseph Pritchett, Thomas Pritchett, James Pritchett, Robert Pritchett and Daniel Pritchett.

Memorial contributions can be made to St Mary University (Leavenworth, KS) and Prince of Peace Mercy Center (Houston, TX) instead of flowers.
