Katheryn Ann Stubbe passed away peacefully at her home on July 1, 2023, at the age of 86 years. She was born on September 27, 1936, in Houston, Texas, to Albert and Helen Akery.

At a very early age, it was obvious that Kathy could do anything she set her mind to. She was very smart and strong. She graduated from John H. Reagan High School in 1955, serving as Treasurer her senior year.

After graduation, she married the man that would become her forever love, Tommy E. Stubbe. This would start her new life as a military wife. Within a few years, Tommy and Kathy had three sons, Tommy, Stephen, and John. Kathy loved family very much.

In 1966, Kathy gave her life to Christ. She maintained a strong faith until the very end. She enjoyed sharing her faith with others around her. Although Kathy was a private person, she was never shy about her faith.

Kathy and Tommy opened a business together known as Orange Grove Game Birds & Hatchery. This was a commitment that lasted over 30 years. Kathy loved those times and the people she met along the way. Not long after the sale of Orange Grove, they bought their forever home to retire in and be near their antique shop (Antique Station) in Tomball, Texas.

Through the years, Kathy and Tommy were involved with many antique cars, which led to the collection of several of their own.

Kathy was an avid reader and loved her books, music, and antiques. Her greatest treasures were her family. She loved her family and enjoyed seeing them anytime she could.

The family would like to thank all of the many friends and caretakers that have been there for her. Each of you were loved as she spoke of you often.

Kathy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Tommy E. Stubbe; her parents, Albert and Helen Akery; and her brother, David Akery.

She is survived by her three sons, Tommy Jr. and wife Debbie, Stephen and wife Tamie, and John and wife Stephanie; her grandchildren, Tyler Stubbe and wife Megan, Kristen Stubbe, Dylan Stubbe, Peyton Stubbe, and Candice Skorka and husband Brad; and her great-grandchildren, Greyson Stubbe, Kynlee Stubbe, Luke Skorka, and Jacob Skorka.

Friends are invited to visit with the family beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, at Klein Funeral Home - Tomball, 1400 W. Main, Tomball, TX 77375. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel followed by a committal service at Houston National Cemetery.
