Obituary

The world lost a shining star on February 22, 2021 when Katherine Ann Rodriguez entered heaven. Born in Uvalde, Texas on May 30, 1954 to Wilma Mahaffey and Durwood Ball, she brightened not just the state of Texas, but the world when her family had the opportunity to live in North Africa and travel across Europe. She was sister to three brothers, Bill Ball, Duke Ball, and Ross Ball, who shared in her adventures and have also been on the receiving end of her many pranks.

When the family returned to America, she lived in Texas, Wyoming, Oklahoma, and Arkansas, and was a delight to many friends and acquaintances along her journey. She married and had two children, Greg Ritchie and Andrea Qureshi, who now has two children of her own, Alistair Qureshi and Wilhelmina Qureshi. She brought magic to motherhood and raised her children with a special kind of silliness and humor. In 1993, she married Joe Rodriguez, her soulmate, and they spent 28 years together, laughing, loving, fishing, and listening to music. He was by her side every day with love and dedication.

Katherine was a strong woman with incredible outer and inner beauty. She could bewitch anyone she met with her dazzling eyes, her smile, her intelligence, and her funny, exciting stories. She loved movies, especially the old classics, music, and had a giant heart for taking care of any dog that crossed her path. She was a talented writer of poems and short stories, and was a devoted Christian, believing in everyday miracles.

She is survived by her husband, son, daughter, grandchildren, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and furry babies that will miss her greatly. Shine on, sweet Kay, and enjoy heaven's peace.
