Katherine Melton O'Neal was born in Portales, New Mexico, on November 16, 1941, and passed away in Richmond, Texas, on August 8, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Johnny O'Neal; her parents, Gasford and Bonnie Melton; and her siblings, Delbert Key, Cloyes Key, Wanda Fortenberry, and Bruce Melton.

Katherine is survived by her sons, Bruce O'Neal and wife, Stephanie, and Sid O'Neal and wife, Marisa; her daughter, Laura Bibb and husband, Ray; grandchildren, Kacey, Nicole, Brad, Robby, Austin, Shelby and husband, Brad, Austin, Sydney, Ryan, Reagan and wife, Maddie, Travis, and Jack; and great-grandchildren, Madison, Paxton, Braden, Kayden, Aiden, Nevaeh, Johnny, Rylee, Baylor, and Vivienne.

Katherine's greatest joy was her family. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren deeply, and cherished every moment spent with them. She also had a lifelong passion for genealogy, dedicating countless hours to researching her family's history and joyfully connecting with relatives across the country.

The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful caregivers who loved and cared for our mom so well: Heather, Xio, Barbie, Sheila, Tiffany, Whitney, her hospice nurse, Faith and many others who showed her so much love.

Visitation will begin at 9am with a funeral service for Katherine to be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Klein Funeral Home, 1400 W. Main, Tomball, TX 77375. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Oklahoma Cemetery in Magnolia, Texas.
