Katherine Margaret Kasowski of Tomball, Texas

passed away on Tuesday July 2, 2024, at 88 .

October 9, 1935: Katherine was born in Navasota, Texas to Agnes and Walter Kimich. A few miles from Navasota, is a town by the name of Anderson. In a large homestead consisting of her mother, father and eleven siblings, she would remain for the next eighteen years. As the baby of the family, she was referred to as Kasia (Kasha). Their livelihood was farming, raising cattle and growing cotton. She relished in her childhood memories, riding horses and getting into mischief with her nephew Thomas. Her father would subsequently die when she was young leaving her oldest brother Albert to become a surrogate father figure throughout her life until the day of his passing.

Moving On: As a young woman she would spread her wings and make the move to Houston, Texas embarking on her future. Her first endeavor was employment, at Bemis company she was to meet the man she would marry, Frank Kasowski. They began as friends, sharing so much in common this friendship soon became love. After a brief courtship, dances, malt shops, and church bazaars, Frank asked for her hand, thus beginning their life together.

Wife: On May 12, 1956, Katherine and Frank married in Annunciation Catholic Church in Houston, Texas surrounded by their loved ones and friends. With Frank being the oldest son of his own large family containing eleven siblings, this now doubled Katherine's family hemisphere. The two quickly settled into a home on E. Sunnyside in Houston, beginning their life together as one.

Mother: In August of 1963, Katherine and Frank received the news from Catholic Charities that a baby girl was born to call their own. A few years later they received the same news of a baby boy. This was to begin a legacy of love expanding their family, reaching into the future. As her life now consisted of the titles Daughter, Aunt, Wife, and Mother, her time was short in managing these roles. While continuing to build her own family and home with Frank, her mother, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends would always remain.

Time Marches On: In the year 1968, Katherine and Frank built their first house together on Werner Street in Houston.  This home would be their nest for the next three decades. During these years they would travel from one small town to the next, for visits, special occasions, reunions, and weddings. Katherine took pride in her humble beginnings and never forgot the lessons learned from her formative years. Her mother remained close at hand until her passing in February of 1984.  Katherine enjoyed sharing many stories from her youth, understanding these experiences were to make her the women she was to become. She made God the center of her world, staying active in her Church. Through sacrifice and perseverance, beside Frank, they saved money, purchased, and sold several rural properties to enjoy, in what they would affectionately call the good life.

Nana: In the late 80's, A new title was added to her repertoire when she became a grandmother for the first time, affectionately called Nana.  The years seemed to pass quickly thereafter with the addition of four more grandchildren, now numbering five. She cherished this role, showering them with love, being chauffeur, cook, shopping companion, nurse, and many times referee.  When the kids called to tell on their parents or they wanted Nana time, she was right there to spoil them endlessly.

Come On In:  In 1996, Katherine and Frank would make their final move, building their home on Cypress Rose Hill in Tomball, Texas. She loved her garden, and was excited in the projects she and Frank would see come to fruition. Katherine was happiest surrounded by family, loving to cook and entertain the old fashion way, just come on in… opening the door to all who would join. She was always up to host a Wednesday dinner for friends and family and going to Nana's on Sunday for lunch was a standing family tradition for many years. Special occasions, and holidays were Katherine's joy, her home was open to all.

The Good Life: After 44 years working outside her home Katherine finally retired in 1998. This would open her days to enjoying her own time, which was not at all a life of leisure. She joined the church altar society and catholic daughters, continued to garden, growing her own fruits and vegetables. All this, including taking care of farm animals alongside Frank made her happy and fulfilled.  Katherine loved her life, loved her family, and remained highly active socially, and otherwise.

Nani: In the year 2011, Katherine received her final role in life, becoming a great grandmother. The name Nana now coincided with the name Nani depending on what the babies were requesting of her. She continued to actively take on her pass time of spoiling, loving, and cherishing every day and moment spent with them. At the end of her life, she proudly proclaimed having two children, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

At Peace: Katherine remained steadfast in her fight to live. She was blessed in keeping her mind, her wit, and her laughter before God took her in His arms, taking away her pain.  The days of our lives are predestined, it is God's Will, He called her home. Just imagine, right now Katherine is having a reunion with never ending cooking, dancing, laughing, and loving.  There is now another Angel watching over us until the time God calls each of us home…

Katherine is survived by her loving Husband of 68 years, Frank Kasowski of Tomball. Children; Connie Wisnoski (husband Mike Stavinoha) of Spring, Glenn Kasowski (wife Margie) of Tomball. Grandchildren; Samantha Miller (husband Tommy) of New Waverly, Ashton Conley (husband Brandon) of Magnolia, Lauren Ashley (husband Matt) of Spring, Chrystah Carter (Chad Bruce) of Tomball, Jake Kasowski of Tomball.  Great Grandchildren; Aubree Conley, Ashlynn Conley, Braydon Conley, Bryson Conley, River Miller, Colton Miller, Charliegh Wall.  Siblings; Thomas Kowis (wife Francis Kowis). In-laws; Ruby Kimich, Caroline Kimich. Helen Borski, Stanley Kasowski (wife Evelyn), Leonard Kasowski (wife Margaret), Robert Kasowski (wife Elaine), Florence Kasowski, and many nieces, nephews and friend's beloved by Katherine.

She is preceded in death by her Parents, Walter and Agnes Kimich, and her Siblings, Martha Kimich, Albert Kimich (wife Helen), Theresa Cook, Luke Kimich (wife Merle), Barbara Morgan, Alex Kimich, Arch Kimich, David Kimich, Annie Cooper, Felix Kimich (wife Rose Ann). Her In-laws, Phillip and Mary Kasowski, Alice Kasowski, Elenor Thomason (husband George), Pauline Stubblefield (husband Luther), Louise Ohendalski (Ray), Philip Borski, Teresa Okonski (husband Bob), Marion Kasowski, Josephine Bielamowicz (husband Jerry). With love also remember there were nieces, nephews and friends passing earlier in their lives touching Katherine's heart deeply.

Viewing will be held on July 15, 2024, 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 pm at Klein Funeral Home, 1400 West Main, Tomball, Texas 77375.

Funeral Services will be held on July 16, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St Anne Catholic Church, 111 South Cherry Street, Tomball, Texas 77375

Graveside service to follow Church Service at Klein Memorial Park Cemetery, 32359 South Hwy 249, Pinehurst, Texas 77362.
