Karina Vida Rathway went to be with the Lord on January 24, 2022. She was an active member of the St. Anne's Catholic Community church from the time she moved to Tomball in 1993 until her final days.

She was deeply devoted to her loving family, she loved decorating for various holidays throughout the year, making craft projects, and finding delightful unique treasures at local garage sales.

She worked as a counselor's aid, receptionist, and ESL teaching aid at Tomball Junior High School for fourteen years. Throughout her career, she gave an innumerable number of students a start in this country by using her own experience in learning English to make sure they had the tools they needed to build a life here. Before her time in education, she worked as a medical assistant in the Red Oak Medical Center, where she met her loving husband Joey.

Karina Rathway is preceded in death by her husband Dr. Joseph E. Rathway, III; and her daughter Vanessa Marie Rathway. She is survived by her daughter, Natalie Rathway, and her sister, Nannette Lindo both from Tomball, Texas; her sister, Ivonne Lindo from Tampa, Florida; her brother, Herbert Lindo of Miami, Florida; and her extended Rathway Family in Perryopolis, Pennsylvania; and various nieces and nephews.

Karina will be sorely missed by all those hearts she touched.

A time of visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Monday, March 7, 2022 at the Klein Funeral Home Tomball.  Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Tomball with burial to follow at Klein Memorial Park in Pinehurst.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center.
