Karin Lee Goff Martin, 68, has been joyfully welcomed home by her Creator.  Much to the sorrow of her family and all who knew her, she left the world she served as an adopted child of God on March 27, 2025, and entered in to His presence and heavenly glory.

The youngest of four, Karin was born in Houston, Texas, on April 22, 1956, to Bill and Jean Goff.  She grew up in a wonderful family.  Friendly, outgoing, and energetic, Karin was a spark of life and light to her friends and family throughout her life.  She accepted God's invitation to follow Him when she was seven years old.  Her life as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, and grandmother was henceforth forever grounded and guided by her Christian faith and love for God.  Karin was always comfortable in including the hand of God in everyday conversations of life.  At home, work, or in her community, Karin used her gift of encouragement to all.

Having lived in Houston and Tyler as a child, in 1970 Karin moved to Lafayette, Louisiana, with her family and attended Comeaux High School, where she was an excellent student and made many friends, including her future helpmate.  Karin then attended Stephen F. Austin University before going to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston where she graduated as a Physical Therapist in 1978 and worked full time and part-time during various parts of her career.

After being chased for years, she accepted a marriage proposal from her best friend, Hal Martin, and they were married on August 11, 1979.  In January 1981, they moved back to Lafayette, Louisiana.  Karin's true desire for her life was to be a stay-at-home mom and did so as she gave birth to three of her four children there.  She was a dedicated mother -- loving, disciplining, and training her children up in the way they should go.  She also was involved in her church and served as a discussion leader in Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) for several years.  In 1993, the family moved to Anchorage, Alaska.  A long way from the familiar environment of the South, Karin and her family found a wonderful church home to serve alongside other Christians.  She quickly adapted to and relished the outdoor life including cross country skiing in the winter but mostly enjoyed her flowers along with camping and salmon fishing in the summer.  There she gave birth to her fourth child.  In 2012, Karin and her family moved to The Woodlands, Texas, and again found a wonderful church home.

Karin is survived by her husband, Hal Martin, her children – son Ryan and wife Robyn, son Travis and wife Melody, daughter Laurilee and husband Jonathan Smith, and daughter Suzannah Martin.  Grandchildren Hope Martin, Joel Martin, Trinity Martin, Joy Martin, Reese Martin, Waylon Smith, and Summer Smith.  Her siblings – sister Sandy and husband Jerry Nowotny, brother Bill Goff and wife Jaime, and brother David Goff and wife Sissie.  Her mother-in-law, Evelyn Martin as well as sisters-in-laws and brothers in-law – Greg and Melinda Howze, and Chris and Joanne Slovacek.  There are also a number of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Karin was preceded by her parents, Bill and Jean Goff.

A memorial service will be held on April 29, 2025, at 2 PM at the Klein Memorial Park Chapel in Magnolia.
