Obituary

Karen Johnson Nespeca, 76, of Magnolia, Texas, went to be with the Lord on May 29, 2019.  She was born on September 1, 1942 in Clovis, New Mexico to Frances and Marvin Johnson.

She grew up in Belen, New Mexico and attended the University of New Mexico.  Karen was a life-long member of the Church of Christ, loved the state of New Mexico and kept in close contact with her childhood friends.  One of her proudest accomplishments was serving as Worthy Advisor for the International Order of Rainbow Girls'.

Karen was a very smart, business minded woman.  She and her husband, Ron, were successful owners of a Big Cheese Pizza franchise in New Mexico and later, Armadillo Cover Company in Texas.

She was often described as "spunky"!  She often joked that "dynamite comes in small packages!"  She was small in stature but large in presence.  Karen could always be found with a book (or Kindle) in her hand.  Her love of reading was evident in her intelligence.  She loved the Dallas Cowboys, was an excellent cook, a loyal friend, a loving wife, a nurturing mother and an affectionate grandma.

Those left to cherish her memories include her loving husband of 53 years, Ron; her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Allen Crouch of Fayetteville, Arkansas; her daughter-in-law and son, Courtney and Ronnie Nespeca of Houston, Texas; her four precious grandsons, Austen Crouch, Dylan Crouch, Riley Crouch and Cash Nespeca; sisters San Kimsey and Vicki Kirk; best friend, Colleen Pittman, and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the medical staff that attended to her in Tomball.

The family will receive visitors Monday from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Klein Funeral Home, Tomball.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at Klein Funeral Home in Tomball, Texas at 10:00 am, followed by a graveside service at Klein Memorial Park, Pinehurst TX.  Friends and family are invited to a reception afterwards at Leslie's Sports Bar #2 in Pinehurst TX.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to The Harvey House Museum at 104 N. First Street, Belen, New Mexico, 87002.
