Karen "Katie" Kelly, 82, of The Woodlands, Texas, passed away November 14, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Katie was born August 30, 1941, in Gloversville, NY to the late Joseph and Ruth Boles Kobuskie. She graduated from Gloversville High School in 1959, and she then earned a bachelor's degree in Foreign Languages from Alfred University. At Alfred, Katie was an active member of the Pi Alpha Pi sorority. It was during that time that she met the love of her life, Bruce Warren Kelly. They were married on May 11, 1963. They were gifted with over 60 years of marriage and were truly devoted to each other.

Katie found joy in so many things in life: tennis, cooking, wine, dogs, reading, travel, and all types of games. Katie was the consummate hostess and such a dedicated mom. She was an avid dancer in her younger years, and she delighted in attending the ballet in later years. However, the true reason she enjoyed those things was because it meant spending time with those she held dear. Above all, Katie loved her family and friends and treasured all the times she could be with them.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce; her children, Stephen Kelly (wife Heather) and Lynn Moretti (husband Jonathan); her grandchildren, Corinne Kelly (husband Nate), Rachel Moretti, and Beau Kelly; and her brother-in-law, Craig Kelly (wife Mary Charlotte). Katie was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Kobuskie; and her cousin, Carol "Bam" Kobuskie.

A celebration of Katie's life will be held Friday, December 15th at 10:00 am at Trinity Episcopal Church, 3901 South Panther Creek Drive, The Woodlands, Texas, with Father Frank Samuelson officiating.
