June Young, 79, of Cypress, Texas unexpectantly passed from this earth and into the presence of her Savior during the early hours of Sunday, February 15th, 2026, at St. Luke's hospital after complications from liver and kidney disease. Her family, who was gathered around her, prayed over her and sang her into the presence of Christ.

June was born in Morehouse, MO on January 18th, 1947, to Vivian Christine Adams and Walter "Red" Adams. Her father passed away when she was 7, which left her wondering all her life how different her life would have been had he been in it. She plans to have lots of long talks with him in heaven and get to know her dad. June was a believer in Christ having accepted Him as her Savior at the age of 12. She knew she was fully loved by her Heavenly Father, which helped her process the ache of missing her earthly father.

Her helpmate and husband of 62 years was James Edward Young. They were wed on January 25, 1964, in Sikeston, MO and she was his one and only blue-eyed cutie throughout her life. Their early years of marriage were spent in California and Tennessee before establishing roots in Texas. Together, they share many happy memories like wonderful vacations, playing cards and dominoes with lifelong friends, church fellowships, raising 2 beautiful children, as well as welcoming 5 perfect grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

June enjoyed spending her leisure time shopping and had a knack for finding the best bargain either online, in stores, or at garage sales. She also had a lifelong love of music that she enjoyed sharing through singing church solos and in choirs at almost every church she ever attended. She also had an incredible sense of humor and enjoyed an occasional prank when opportunity presented itself.

She was also a very loving and caring woman who prioritized the care of others. Multiple family members have said she could make you feel like the most important person in the room just by talking with her. She gave freely and often, as she believed it was a faithful act of stewarding the many blessings that God had bestowed upon her and her family. She was an unrelenting prayer warrior, who interceded for all who God laid upon her heart. She had a special place in her heart for ministers and would create safe space for them and their families to just be loved for who they were. As a result of all this, she was blessed to have so many close friends in life.

June is preceded in death by her parents, Vivian and "Red" Adams; brothers Alvin Gene Adams, Lloyd Allend Adams, Floyd Lee Adams, Sr, Walter Owen Adams, Paul Alfred Adams; a step-brother, Donald Wayne Wimberley; and a sister, Violetta Mae Adams McKnight.

She is survived by her husband, James Young; daughter, Lisa Young; son, Kenneth Young (Carrie Bertin Young); grandchildren, Grant Wheeler, Korban Young (Sarah Beth Dieterich Young), Kyler Young, Kane Young, Carrigan Young, and great grandchild, Callie Jo Young; brothers, Homer Edward Adams, Carl Wayne Wimberley; sister, Barbara Faye Wimberley Gordon; step sisters, Bonnie Wimberley Adams, Carolyn Wimberley Dill, Wanda Wimberley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Grace Lee, her family physician; Jacque Delahoussaye, JD, Laura, and Erlene, who she considered the "A" Team for her paracentesis; the doctors and nurses at CHI- St. Luke's Health- The Vintage Hospital, especially Mr. Lyle for his diligent care in her last days.

A celebration of June's life will be held on Saturday, February 21st at First Baptist Church of Cypress. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM followed by a time of remembrance and worship beginning at 11:00 AM.
