June Waggoner, age 97, was born on July 1, 1928, in Smackover, Arkansas and passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026, in Houston, Texas, surrounded by those who loved her. She lived a long, beautiful life marked by grace, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to her family.

June was preceded in death by her husband, James Virgil Waggoner, and her son, Jay Howell Waggoner, both of whom she now joins in eternal rest.

June was the beloved mother of Liz Quisenberry and cherished mother‑in‑law to Kevin Quisenberry. She was the proud grandmother of Katie Flek (Zach), Madeline Mack (Ben) and Blake Quisenberry (Mariah). Her grandchildren were among her life's greatest joys, and she treasured each of them deeply.

June was further blessed with great‑grandchildren Peyton Quisenberry, Georgia Mack, Cooper Fleck, Clay Fleck, Charlie Mack, and Cole Quisenberry. Each brought their own light, laughter, and happiness into her world. Her family was her greatest pride, and her loving legacy continues to live on through every generation.

Known for her gentle nature, resilience, and warm spirit, June touched the hearts of everyone who knew her. She will be remembered for her kindness, steady presence, and the love she poured so generously into her family and community.

June pursued her love of learning by earning her bachelor's degree from Ouachita Baptist University and dedicated her career to teaching. With patience, kindness, and a true passion for education, she touched countless young lives and left an enduring mark on every student she taught.

Beyond her dedication to family and education, June embraced life with enthusiasm and elegance. She loved shopping, lunching with friends, and traveling the world, always embracing new experiences and creating cherished memories along the way. Her warm presence, refined style, and joyful spirit touched all who knew her.

The family extends a special thank you to the caring staff of St. Luke's – The Vintage, as well as all of June's dear friends who were part of her long and well‑lived life.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to support research into alcoholism or Alzheimer's disease, causes close to the family's heart.

June will be laid to rest at Forest Park Westheimer- Mission Memorial Mausoleum in Houston, Texas where she will join her late husband and son. A private family gathering will be held to honor her life and memory.
