On January 9th, 2023, June Evelyn Harrison Sawyer was reunited with her husband in heaven. June had a deep love for her family and Christ. She passed away surrounded by family and listening to gospel hymns ushering her home.

June was born in Hockley, Texas on July 16, 1937, to Louise Thompson and Carl Harrison. She met the love of her life, Don Sawyer, on a blind date the summer before high school and their courtship turned into a 62-year marriage. June was at Don's side when he passed away January 16, 2021.

June was a strong, determined, compassionate woman who loved her family and friends and prioritized staying connected with those she loved. She had a natural gift for connecting with people and making them comfortable. Professionally this led to a successful sales career in the oil and marine industry. Personally, this gave her a rich life filled with joy as she worked the phones, texts, and her social media account until days before her death.

Those left to cherish June's memory include her children, Stephanie Sawyer, with whom she lived the past two years; Chuck Sawyer and wife, Tamala; L'Don Sawyer and husband, Cary Cohen; Grandson Chris Sawyer and wife, Astrid Azpeitia; Great-grandchild Ethan Sawyer and step grandchildren Faith, Hope, and Grace Cory and step great grandchild Maria Azpetia whom she loved dearly. June leaves behind a strong bond with cousin Clifford Purvis and with two sisters whom she reunited with later in life, Shirley Anawaty, and Martha Harrison, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, church friends, and neighbors who meant the world to her. We all take comfort knowing she is celebrating with Jesus.
