Julius Sterling Burns, JB, 87, of Houston, Texas passed on Thursday, October 10,
2019, in his home, surrounded by his loving family and close friends.

Julius was born on June 28, 1932 to Marie (Lucas) and Henry Burns. From his humble
beginning in Clyo, Georgia, Julius dedicated himself to making a good life for his
family. He spent eight years obtaining his Business Degree from Armstrong State
College in Savannah, Georgia while working full time to support his family. Julius
moved the family to Houston, Texas in 1976 from Jacksonville, Florida.
In 1980 Julius became President/CEO of MMI Products, Inc and was successful
throughout his time there, retiring in 2002. He continued to serve on the Board of
Directors until 2007.

Julius had many hobbies and interests that he loved sharing with family and friends.
Fishing! Now that's a word that always caught JB's attention. From fishing trips in
local lakes to deep sea fishing in Costa Rica and salmon fishing in Alaska, he
always loved sharing these adventures with his friends. Julius was very competitive,
he and Anne traveled all over the United States entering Duplicate Bridge
Tournaments. Julius and Anne shared a love for Ballroom Dancing. After urging from
Anne, he reluctantly took ballroom dance lessons with a group of friends. He became
hooked. Julius enjoyed their evenings out with friends dining and dancing. JB always
loved working with his hands and he enjoyed building projects with wood. There is
evidence of his wood working skills in every family members' home. It is a gift and
a talent that he shared with his grandsons. JB loved to say that he and Anne had a
magical life! JB will be remembered for his sense of humor, love of family and
friends and his sage advice. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Julius is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Anne Burns, along with two
daughters Cheryl and Donna Burns of Houston, Texas, four grandchildren Elizabeth
(Chad) Cain, Kimberly (Joe) Fox, Patrick (Jessica) Geer, Daniel (Ashley) Geer and
six great grandchildren Savannah, Asher, and Abigail Cain, Cecilia and Madelyn Fox
and Audrey Geer.
