Judy K. Pate, 79, of Rose Hill Community, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026 following a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was born on September 4, 1946 in Temple, Texas.
Judy attended South Park High School in Beaumont, Texas where she excelled in typing, shorthand, and was 2nd chair celloist in the high school orchestra. She learned to type on a manual typewriter and was fluent in shorthand.
Judy attended Lamar University in Beaumont pursuing a degree in Secretarial Science with Teacher certification. On August 12th she married Tommy Pate, 60 years ago this coming August. She graduated from Lamar University in May 1968 and joined Tommy in Wichita Falls, TX where he was stationed in the Air Force. Judy was devoted to her husband, made every house a home, and became a part of each community where they were stationed, including Wichita Falls, TX, twice, Alexandria, LA, and Grand Forks, ND. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing golf on a small course near the Grand Forks Air Base.
After returning to civilian life in Beaumont, TX, she was a stay-at-home mom until both her boys were in school. The family was transferred to Bryan, TX where Judy worked at Texas A&M University in a secretarial position. The family was then transferred to Houston where she worked for North Harris Montgomery College (now Lone Star College) for sixteen years retiring in 2002.
Judy is survived by her husband, Tom Pate; her sons, Jason, Kevin and his wife Tiffany; three grandchildren, Brennan, Landon, and Keely Pate; three nephews, Bobby, Tommy Jr., and Joe David and four nieces, Darla, Brenda, Karen, Debbie.
A memorial service has been arranged to celebrate her life and her impact on others. The Memorial Service is January 22nd at 10AM in Klein Funeral Home, 1400 W. Main, Tomball, TX 77375.
