Judy Ann Walden Furnish

Judy Ann Walden Furnish passed away on May 22, 2025 at the age of 83. Judy was born Jully 4, 1941 in Abilene, Texas to Mary Virginia and Woodrow Walden. She grew up and attended school in Abilene, graduating from Abilene High School Class in 1959. Go Eagles!

Judy married Lawrence William Furnish. Larry was subject to frequent job transfers in the early years. So, they saw a lot of the country and made the most of each area by visiting the local attractions. They finally came home to Texas in 1979, but to Houston instead of Abilene. Judy was always busy -- on the job, taking care of the family, cooking, sewing and working on a project. She retired twice and was determined to stay retired the second time. Judy took up yoga at the age of 70 and enjoyed it thoroughly. A few years later she decided to become a yoga instructor, teaching chair yoga. She was active in church and church activities. She was also a nature enthusiast and enjoyed gardening.

Family was always most precious to her.

Judy is survived by son Mike Furnish, son Steve Furnish and wife Angie, daughter Shari Kutac and husband Paul, and daughter Kim Pope and husband Scott. Grandchildren Sara Allen and husband Shaun, Jacob Furnish and wife Lindsey, Alexandra Kutac, Danielle Gutierrez and husband Ruben, Michelle Beckwith and husband Rashun, Corbin Pope, Megan Pope, River Young and Joshua Furnish. Great grandchildren Emika and Juvia Gutierrez, Benjamin, Patrick and Emily Allen, William Furnish, Brooks Young and Mathew and Oliver Furnish.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her name to BEAR CREEK UNITED METHODIST CHURCH (16000 Rippling Water Drive, Houston, TX 77074).
