Judy Jane Fischer, 79, of Magnolia, Texas passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on February 10, 2025. She was born July 23, 1945, to the late Gilbert G. Hein and the late Irene Schustella Hein.
Judy dedicated 38 years of her life to the Houston Fire Department, where she not only built a meaningful career but also met the love of her life, her husband of 44 years. From 1964 to 1992 she worked as Secretary for the Fire Chief, then continued her service to HFD as Administrative Supervisor in 1992 and Administrative Manager in 1995 until she retired in 2002. Judy had an overwhelming love of animals and nurtured many in her life. She was known for her kind heart and unwavering generosity. Judy touched the lives of everyone she met. She never hesitated to lend a helping hand and was a source of warmth and support to all who knew her.
She leaves behind family, friends and colleagues who will forever cherish her memory. Her legacy of kindness, dedication and love will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
She is survived by her brother, Filbert Hein; nephew, Steven Hein (Donna); niece, Suzanne Ashlock (Stephen); grand-nephew, August Ashlock; grand-nieces Sydney Hein, Alyson Ashlock and Sarah Hein; Stepchildren Becky Kriegel, Donna Blowey and Tim Fischer.
Including her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Fischer and sister-in-law, Jennie Hein.
Memorial contributions can be made to Abandoned Animal Rescue in Magnolia, TX.
