Judy Elizabeth Burch, 77, of Oakwood, Tx, passed away at her home April 03, 2023. She was born October 21, 1945, in Lamar County, Tx to Claud and Hazel Prater. Judy graduated from Palo Duro High school in Amarillo, TX. Judy married James Edward Burch on December 31, 1963. Judy and James moved to College Station Tx while James studied at Texas A&M University. After James's graduation, Judy and her family moved to Spring, Tx, where she worked for Klein Independent School District for 30 years beginning at Hildebrandt Intermediate School and culminating her long career with Klein as the Executive Assistant to the Superintendent.

In 2003 Judy found her dream home, a small parcel of land in Oakwood Tx, where she could enjoy the sights and sounds of the nature. Judy worked for Sloan Shuffler CPA in Palestine for 15 years until 2018 when she was able to retire and just enjoy what she loved, being at peace in her happy place without the hustle and bustle of city life.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents Claud and Hazel Prater and her siblings -Sisters Jean Matthews, Ann Evans and Faye Webb and Brother William Prater.

Judy is survived by sister Robbie Thomas, daughters Elaine (Mike) Gary and Kelly Stratton, son Rodney (Tawnya) Burch; grandchildren – Richard Gary, Jarrod Stratton, Beca Nelson, Ashley Laubscher, Brenton Hart, KatyLynn Canchola, Kiel Sutter, Taylor Stratton, Stormy Barto, Clayton Burch and Courtney Burch; great-grandchildren – Emma Nelson, James Stratton, Hayley Nelson, Harley Laubscher, Cattleya Stratton, Skylar Gary, Briley Gary, Jaynee Hart, Allison Canchola, Rebeckah Sutter and Reese Gary; as well as a large extended family who will all miss her greatly. Services for Judy will be held at 9:30am April 15, 2023, at the Klein Funeral Home, 14711 FM 1488, Magnolia Tx 73754
