Judy Stevens Brenner

October 7, 1947 – June 11, 2025

Judy Stevens Brenner passed away on June 11, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of devotion to family, education and faith.

Born on October 7, 1947, Judy graduated from Spring Woods in 1965 and married the love of her life, Carl Brenner, on March 24, 1969. Together, they welcomed six children between 1970 and 1980.

A lifelong learner, Judy earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Prairie View A&M University in December 1994 and went on to complete a Master of Education in May 2004. She began her career in education in 1995, teaching elementary school students with warmth and dedication. In 2004, she transitioned to the role of school librarian, where her love for books and knowledge found a natural home. She served in the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District at Adams and Copeland Elementary Schools and as librarian at Gleason Elementary, inspiring generations of students over nearly two decades. Judy retired in 2011.

Judy's life was marked by deep faith, love for her family, and a strong belief in the power of

education. Her creativity, work ethic and sense of style inspired and influenced the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Bentley Irene Munselle Stevens and Thomas Earl Stevens, her siblings Thomas Merrill Stevens and Mary Ann Stevens, and her son Joshua Andrew Brenner.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Carl Brenner; her sister Rebecca (Charles) Ellis and brother Sam (Jay) Stevens; her children Helmut (Deborah) Brenner, Sarah (Sterling) Jones, Jennifer Brenner, Jonah (Josie) Brenner, and Luke (Emily) Brenner; and her grandchildren: Jordan (Alexander) Barrow, Helmut (Emily) Brenner IV, Madison Jones, Joshua (Alexis) Brenner, Rebecca (Conner) McLeod, Sofia Andrade, Parker (Emily) Jones, Samantha Brenner, Roberto Andrade, Olivia Brenner, Jane Brenner, Nathan Brenner, William Brenner, Bethany Brenner, Anna Brenner, Corinne Brenner, and Adam Brenner.

She was also blessed to see her family grow to include great-grandchildren: Alexander Barrow, Jess Barrow, and Beck Barrow.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 19, at 1pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 10555 Mills Road in Houston Texas.
